Injection Molding Processes
There are two types of injection molding processes that can be used to create plastic parts. These include single-stage and multi-stage injection molding.
Single-Stage Injection Molding
The single-stage injection molding process is used to produce small quantities of plastic parts. This method uses a heated barrel containing molten plastic resin. A plunger pushes the resin through a nozzle into the cavity of an open mold. Once the plastic has cooled down, the molded part is removed from the mold.
Multi-Stage Injection Moldings
The multi-stage injection mold process is used to produce large quantities of plastic parts. It consists of injecting molten plastic into a closed mold at high pressure. After the plastic cools, the mold opens and the part is ejected.

How does it work?
When the molten thermoplastic material is injected into the mold cavity, it cools down and hardens almost immediately. Once hardened, the part is ejected out of the mold and ready to use.
